News 25 most important rock bands 1981-2006
In issue #1110 (from 06/06/06) of Kerrang! magazine, they name the 25 most important bands of the past 25 years, in light of the magazine's 25-year anniversary. Nirvana is #10 on the list: "No one could have predicted Nirvana were to become the most important rock band since The Sex Pistols. Yet in their short seven-year existence this humble trio achieved a gross-genre popularity yet to be bettered, dragging the underground kicking and snarling into the mainstream along the way."The list is topped by Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden, respectively.
