NFC News Here We Are Now, Entertain Us: 20 Years of Nevermind - new BBC show
This Friday, BBC6 Music in the UK will air a special radio programme: Here We Are Now, Entertain Us: 20 Years of Nevermind. In this programme, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig talk to Steve Lamacq about the heady days of Nevermind's gestation and the explosive times following it's release.

It will be broadcast September 23 at 6 PM. More info.

NFC News Nirvana 'Nevermind' 20th Anniversary edition - new TV ad
A very cool TV ad about the Nevermind 20th anniversary edition was released today. Watch it below:



The Nirvana camp also put up a Nirvana timeline on YouTube which includes some great clips such as music videos, tour footage, TV performances and a brand new video: making the 20th anniversary boxset. Watch it all at the Nirvana YouTube channel.

NFC News New interview with Dave, Krist & Butch Vig about legendary show
Back in November 1991, when Nevermind fever started sweeping the world, Nirvana played a gig at the small club Paradiso in Amsterdam, Holland. Dutch broadcaster VPRO recently did an interview with Krist, Dave and Butch Vig about the show and the 20th anniversary of Nevermind.

From this Sunday, VPRO will stream the entire Nirvana Amsterdam show at 3VOOR12.tv.

NFC News Nirvana tribute show headed to Iowa - with special guest Spencer Elden
Nevermind - The International Nirvana Tribute will perform Nevermind in its entirety at a special show in Clive, Iowa on September 23. The show will be at the Bombay Bicycle Club and begin around 10 PM.

Attending the show will be none other than Spencer Elden - the baby on the Nevermind cover! (he's a grown man now).

NFC News SPIN Tribute to Nirvana's 'Nevermind' - free album!
A few months ago, Spin were the first to pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of Nevermind by offering for free a great covers album. To quote Spin:

We tapped some of our favorite contemporary artists to cover the influential album's 13 songs, in their original order. The download is called Newermind, and it's our gift to you.

We were happy that two of Kurt Cobain's personal faves -- the Meat Puppets and the Vaselines, both of whom Nirvana famously covered during their MTV Unplugged taping -- joined our effort. Below you'll find the complete album tracklist, with reflections from each contributing artist.

NFC News Nevermind Live: A Benefit Show for Susie Tennant - streamed online!
The aforementioned "Nirvana Live" show at the EMP in Seattle on September 20 is set to be streamed online. The show will feature live performances of bands covering the songs off Nevermind - with a lineup that includes Krist Novoselic.

The live stream is scheduled to begin on September 20 at 10 PM Pacific Time. For more details, visit livestream.com which will also be the place to watch the actual stream on September 20.

Nevermind Live at the EMP Museum will feature performances by The Presidents of the United States of America, Krist Novoselic, The Fastbacks, Vaporland, Duff McKagan's Loaded, The Long Winters, Visqueen, Valis (former Screaming Trees), Campfire OK, Champagne Champagne, Ravenna Woods, Crypts, TacocaT, Vendetta Red, and more.

After Nevermind, there will be a special encore set of Nirvana songs played by artists including Young Fresh Fellows, Pigeonhed, Cobirds Unite, The Tripwires, Shelby Earl, Stag, SEACATS, Cali Giraffes, and Tom Price Desert Classic.

This show is a benefit for longtime Seattle music industry maven Susie Tennant, recently diagnosed with cancer. Funds raised go toward medical expenses and family support throughout Susie's extended cancer treatment.

NFC News 'Celebrating Nirvana Pack' added to Rock Band game
The popular music video game Rock Band (available for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3) will be releasing a "Celebrating Nirvana Pack" to coincide with the Nevermind 20th anniversary. The new tracks bundled in the pack are:

* Heart-Shaped Box
* All Apologies
* Rape Me
* You Know Youíre Right

The tracks will be available on all current generation platforms on September 20th, at a price of $6.99, 560MSP and 700 Wii Points for the whole pack, and $1.99, 160MSP and 200 Wii Points for any single song. Itís worth mentioning Heart-Shaped Box can be upgraded for Pro Guitar and Bass for an additional dollar. The Pro instrument tracks can only be played on Rock Band 3 with compatible controllers.
