NFC News New website: Poll The People
A new website was just launched to invite the public to vote for their Top 5 albums (films and books) in an evolving poll to find the Greatest Albums etc of all time www.pollthepeople.com.

The site was borne out of frustration at the number of TV and press polls based on very little research or the opinions of a few journalists. The new site provides people a chance to have their say and vote for their favourite albums (films and books) to create a truly definitive global poll.

NFC News Kurt's grandfather comments on story about Kurt's ashes being stolen
Leland Cobain, Kurt's grandfather, told The Aberdeen Daily World his thoughts about Kurt's ashes allegedly being stolen from Courtney Love's California home. Leland said he has his doubts about the authenticity of the reporting calling it "really hard to believe." "It just doesn't make sense to me. Why would anyone take them?" Leland Cobain said. "If it's true, I would hope she gets them back," he said.

But certainly the bank accounts of not just people who worked for them, but even the bank accounts of bands who once had a career before they showed up. Just ask the guys in Winger or any hair metal band what happened to their show business receipts once Smells Like Teen Spirit got ahold of MTV and radio stations across the land. Not everyone profited at Kurt Cobain's expense."

NFC News Cobain's ashes stolen??
According to various stories in the media, a portion of Kurt Cobain's ashes have been stolen from the home of Courtney Love. The story from NME: "According to the News Of The World, the Nirvana frontman's remains the location of which has previously been kept secret were taken from the Los Angeles home of his widow Courtney Love.

The ashes were said to have been kept in a 'pink teddy bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair' and were taken with some jewellery and clothes.

Love is quoted by the paper as saying: 'I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do.' "

Former Nirvana manager Danny Goldberg plans a September release for his memoir Bumping Into Geniuses.

The book deals with his exploits in the music business and is bound to contain inside information about his stint working with Nirvana. Tabloids picked on the story: NY Post.
