| NFC News New Dave Grohl biography to be published this year | |
 A Dave Grohl biography, tentatively entitled The Dave Grohl Story, is set to be published later this year. Author Jeff Apter recently finished the 424-page book which will be published by Omnibuss Press for a possible August 7 release (according to amazon.com).Jeff spoke with Dave Grohl while he was working for the Australian Rolling Stone and he's also spoken with dozens of people who have moved in and out of Grohl's life over the past 30 years. "I've even tracked down Larry Hinkle, Grohl's first songwriting partner from his high school days in Virginia, as well as other bandmates, friends, producers, video makers, housemates, etc. I think it'll make for an interesting read – it may even surprise a few hardcore fans", Jeff tells the NFC exclusively. As mentioned earlier, Jeff has interviewed the band and Dave while working for Australian Rolling Stone, and Dave's management helped with the book also. Jeff Apter has previously written books on The Cure and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In other Grohl news: The Foo Fighters will play a show at London's Hyde Park on June 17 this year. "The widow of Nirvana icon Kurt Cobain told a Los Angeles court Friday, per reports, that she 'feels great', is spending her days playing guitar, and has 'put a very gnarly drug problem behind [her]'. In an interview with RollingStone.com posted Friday, Love revealed that she's recorded a batch of new songs with ex-Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. Among the tunes: 'How Dirty Girls Get Clean.' In his L.A. courtroom, Judge Rand Rubin complimented Love for her progress in drug treatment, and freed her from house arrest." Read full story here. The Foo Fighters just concluded their latest concert tour with a great show in Stockholm, Sweden. One NFC'er describes the concert as "amazing", with a great setlist, and Dave even took the drums for a moment. The band is now taking a break as Dave Grohl and his wife are expecting their first child sometime this spring.
